Sometimes our journey through life can enter seasons where everything appears to come to a standstill, there’s silence, there’s darkness, somebody has pushed the pause button and we find ourselves in a place of waiting. The next step seems unclear. We struggle to see the way ahead like we use to and fear with doubt knocks at our faith. We know what God has said and the promises he has already spoken but doubt creeps in and we begin to question Gods ways and the reasons why we are where we are and not where we think we should be.
Why is it that we find it so hard to embrace the seasons of waiting?
Those times that arise in our lives where we find ourselves in an in-between place, where there are moments we are reminded of what God has spoken and promised but we have to wait for it to unfold. We find ourselves in a place, in a season with no other choice but to trust, hope, remain faithful, be patient and wait.
Maybe if we learned how to recognise those times and seasons in our lives more clearly we would learn how to embrace the opportunities that life brings in those in-between seasons of waiting for the promise and allowing our heavenly father to do a deeper work in us that prunes and reshapes our character to become more like Him. So often we tend to run in the opposite direction or try and hide because there are parts of our lives that are just too painful in those moments to let Him in.
Surely these are moments in our lives that are to be embraced, to be treasured, where the place of waiting in-between becomes a beautiful exchange in our intimacy with our heavenly father, where we capture a deeper understanding about His love for us, our love for Him, His love for others and His plan and purpose for our lives.
We may never know how long the waiting in our life time will be, to see certain promises of God fulfilled but our journey with God is so much more important than we will probably ever truly realise.
Our walk of obedience really matters.
For what we may not see or fully understand now in our life time – one day we will see everything much more clearly. One day we will see Him face to face.
Life is full of moments with spaces and places where hoping, waiting, asking and searching are both a wonder and mystery that I will never fully understand.
One things for sure -waiting in between – keeps me hoping, trusting and seeking to be closer to the one in whom all things are known.
