  • There is a time for everything

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

    (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

    What time are you in?

What season of life are you in?

Maybe it’s new birth, or death, planting or reaping, crying or laughing. The beautiful thing is that with all of the realities of this life He incorporates it all and He brings it all together in His time, not our time, but His time.

None of this time is wasted time.

Every day He is painting a beautiful picture that even our mind’s eye cannot fully see or comprehend. For we only see in part. He is always painting a picture of what is yet to come. A picture of how He sees us and how He sees the world.  A picture full of beauty and full of hope.

He is making everything beautiful in His time.

The God of all creation who desires to invade our experiences of life, whether that is joyful or sorrowful. He fills it with His presence, infuses it with His grace, and gives it colour, meaning, and purpose.

He makes everything beautiful in His time.

Up from the ashes comes beauty and from the place of sorrow comes the fullness of joy. Up from the pit of despair comes hope for tomorrow. For our, God is with us. He is always here, He is always near, He is always there. He is everywhere.

For there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.

Very often in life, we prefer the times of joy to the times of sorrow but the beauty of the gospel says that to God it doesn’t make any difference for He brings them all together.

He makes everything glorious in His time.

The time that you are in, whether it’s birth or death, laughing or weeping, sowing or reaping, is Gods time. He desires to bring His presence into each and every experience of our daily lives. With His presence comes everlasting joy and everlasting peace.

For it is He who is making everything beautiful.

He will make everything glorious in His time.

How wonderful it is to know that our minds are capable of being in touch with the things of eternity and yet restless to know more about the mysteries of our God. We search, we linger, we stumble, we fall, we hunger, we thirst for our minds are never fully satisfied with mere answers. We can only be fully satisfied by God himself, who is so much more than mere answers.

We yearn for His affection and the enjoyment of the divine maker of heaven and earth. Who beacons us, calls us and invites us into this beautiful, profound and mysterious relationship. That’s how much He loves us. That’s how much He wants to know us and for us to know Him. To partner with Him as He makes everything beautiful in His time.

    He makes everything glorious.

    He makes everything glorious.

    From glory to glory.

    He is glorious.

    He is glorious.

There is a time for everything under heaven and He will make everything glorious in His time.

None of this time is ever wasted time.

He is making all things new.

  • The Unknown Way

Sometimes the path we take may lead us into the unknown. Sometimes we have a choice to make — often wondering which way to go? Sometimes there is only one way through to the other side.

With every step we take in life we learn more about overcoming the fear of stepping into the unknown — when we take a risk and we put faith into action. For very often we cannot see the way ahead and yet that’s what we are waiting for — to see what we cannot see. Living with the hope of finding a better way through. There are no short cuts in this life — its tough and we are fools to think it will be anything less. We cannot escape the pain that we experience or the uncertainty with passing time— but there is a way that brings comfort to the soul and peace to the mind. For all that may appear to be uncertain there is solid ground.

With the journey through life we begin to realise that we become more familiar with the less familiar pathway. There is a search for something more, a search for something new and fresh. In this place we realise more day by day that He is the only one who can nourish, restore and satisfy our soul.

But who is He? Who is He that knows every part of me? The one who is longing to be known by every part of me.

We will always learn something new in the unknown — when we see more of the beautiful life we were made for. We grow. We develop. We stumble. We fall very often trying to find our way. Our senses awaken to all that is unfamiliar and new around us. Our trust, our faith and vulnerability teach us so much more than we could ever learn along familiar paths. Yet we are truly thankful for the seasons of life that take us along those well worn paths — for sometimes it’s in those places that we find rest for our soul and the patience to wait for a new open door.

Prehaps this is how the journey of life unfolds. The pathway ahead always guaranteed to be full of the unknown. With our complacency we sometimes find ourselves stuck — discontented with the old familiar ways that make us feel secure. We realise more and more that it is in the unknown and less familiar places and spaces that we dare to risk it all and plunge out into the deep. We abandon it all — no longer afraid. Trusting in the unknown ways that lead us on. Like a young bird being pushed out of its nest we learn more about how to lean into His everlasting arms and lean less on our own understanding. We learn to trust Him and to follow Him in all of the pathways — for they lead us into a deeper intimacy with Him.

But who is He? Who is He that knows every part of me? The one who is longing to be known by every part of me.

May we become more familiar with the unfamiliar and unknown pathway. For this is where we are meant to be and this is where He always loves to lead us through. The place where our faith flourishes and where we get to know Him. Life is more of an adventure when we embrace — the unknown way.
